Metinvest-SMC, the sales network of Metinvest Group in Ukraine and CIS countries, has launched an online store. Online sales are supported by a specially created contact centre (0800-30-30-70), which also handles orders received by phone. The technical support of the project was taken over by Metinvest Digital.
How it all began
The pilot project was launched in August 2019. Since then, the store has become more feature-like: In May of this year, an updated product catalogue appeared on the site. Now you can buy about 400 types of rolled steel products online. These are the products that are in demand among retail customers.
Who can buy products
Both retail and wholesale buyers all over Ukraine can buy the products. Customers are offered to use a developed network of Metinvest-SMC's own metal centres, as well as platforms of metal distributor partners in different cities of the country.
How to order rolled steel products
For the convenience of customers, the products on the website are split into four groups:
It is easy to find the right products in the store's catalogue. Information about each product includes the current price, metal class, dimensions, steel grade from which it is made, compliance of the product to Ukrainian and international quality standards, and applications.
To buy rolled steel, it is enough to add the required positions to the basket and check-out online. The sales manager will then contact the buyer to clarify the details. The buyer is then to pay the order in a convenient way, come to the steel centre and pick up the goods.
Why do we need online sales
"Metinvest-SMC is the leader of Ukrainian steel market, the only supplier for the entire industry segments. By launching an online store, we want to become even more accessible to our customers. We offer a solution that will make the purchase of metal products easier and more convenient," said Igor Tonev, CEO of Metinvest-SMC.
How much steel sold online
Every month the online store is visited by more than 13,000 people. Since the beginning of this year, the site and contact centre have processed about 3,000 requests and sold more than 2,000 tonnes of rolled steel.
The online store will continue developing. The on-line store has launched a pilot “My Account” function that enables buyers to order status tracking and notifications about the delivery progress. In addition, the possibilities to accept credit card payments are already being explored.
